  1. 1. Kiowa and another soldier are in the waste field. The young soldier turns his flashlight on and attracts attention from mortars. They are fired on and Kiowa is hit and falls into the waste. The young soldier tries to pull him out but is driven away by the stench. I blame the young soldier for using the flashlight. His actions got his fellow soldier killed.

  2. Kiowa ends up dieing in the war. In the field that they were camping in it was raining and everything and the bombs and stuff were going off because a kid had show him a picture of his girlfriend and needed the light to show him. The kid was the reason for kiowa dieing because he turn on the light and cause everything to happen. And Norman Bowker after the war went home and done okay for a while and ended the stress of after the war got to him and he killed himself.

  3. 1.) Kiowa and the young soldier was looking at his picture of his girlfriend. They had to cut on a flashlight to see the picture. When they cut the flashlight on it gave there position away. A few minutes later they got attacked by mortars. Kiowa got hit then sank down into the muck

  4. 1: Kiowa was blown out by a mortal. Norman Bowker Thought that he was the reason that Kiowa was died. The real reason that Kiowa died is that they gave away there place where they were a hiding when they were using a flashlight.

  5. 1Q: Explain what happens to Kiowa and who might be to blame.
1A: Kiowa was hit by mortar fire and drowned in the sewage field. The young boy was to blame cause while the group was camping and hiding from the enemy. The little boy turned on a flashlight and the enemy saw it, which the enemy used mortar fire. Then it went downhill from there.

  6. Norman Bowker hung him self after war. I think it had a lot to do with Kiowa's death. He kept saying it was his fault because he couldn't pull him out. A lot of people blamed their self but I think Norman was the one that took it the hardest.

they try and help him but he doesn't wanna help himself! Kiowa
is scared and stuff he don't know what to anymore.

  11. Kiowas death was the result of a mortar shell landing next to him which knocked him into the muck where he suffocated to death. I would say that the Vietcong soldier who fired the mortar is to blame for Kiowas death because he was trying to kill the platoon. the soldier killed Kiowa when he launched the mortar shell. Kiowa would have never died if the soldier wouldnt have fired the shell

  13. They were set up in a crap field and it was pouring down rain. "The Boy" took out a picture of his girlfriend and turned on his flashlight to show Kiowa and a mortar hit Kiowa. The soldiers blamed Cross for Kiowa's death. They blamed him because they put them in a crap field.

  15. 1.) During the night, Kiowa and the younger soldier were in their tents. The younger soldier wanted to show Kiowa a Picture of his girlfriend, switching on a flashlight. Once the flashlight came on, The field came under Mortar fire and opened up. Muck was everywhere and Kiowa fell into one of the holes, and it sucked him under, he couldn't be saved. I believe the younger soldier is to blame. Simply because he is the one who turned on the flashlight. If he wouldn't have turned on the flashlight, they may not have been attacked.
2.) Norman Bowker hung himself in the locker room due to the guilt he felt because of Kiowa's death. He felt as it was his responsibility for what had happened because he could not save him.

  17. #1. Kiowa died because of a mortar that was shot and blew him up and into the muck in the field where they were camping out at, also the village toilet. The muck pretty much took him under like quick sand. I think that it’s a mixture between Lieutenant Jimmy cross, for setting up there in the first place after he was warned about it being dangerous. Also the young boy who cut on his flashlight to show Kiowa a picture of his girlfriend; which gave away their spot. It gave the enemy an easy target.

  18. After the War, Norman Bowker has no one to talk to and is riding around the lake in his dads truck. He rides around and looks at all the people on the 4th of July. He talks to himself about everything because he has not one to go to. His girlfriend got married to someone else, his dad only wanted to talk about his medals and his best friend drowned before he had a chance to go to war. A while later he ends his life by hanging himself in the gym with a jump rope. I think he did out of guilt that Kiowa died and he has no one to go to. When your depressed it’s a lot harder if you have no friends to be there.
